Jake Sully, a former Marine confined to a wheelchair is recruited to travel light years to a human outpost on the planet Pandora. Where a corporate consortium is mining a mineral that will be key in solving the energy crisis Earth. Because the atmosphere of Pandora is toxic, they have created the Avatar Program in which human “drivers” have their consciousness linked to an avatar, a biological body controlled remotely that can survive in that environment.
