Description: The Hellboy series struggled from the start. Despite her clear fanbase, she never really proved a financial hit for the studio. That’s why the filmmakers are now taking a different approach. Hellboy: The Crooked Man is more like Mike Mignola’s graphic novels than anything we’ve seen so far. He’s more of a paranormal detective, and the plot is more street-based. There are still fantastical creatures to fight, but there are more exterior shots and fewer crazy action scenes.
