Fire leaves scars. Some never heal. In Is God Is 2026 writer director Aleshea Harris turns revenge into something stranger harsher and far more hypnotic than a standard thriller. However years after a devastating fire leaves their mother disfigured and confined to a bed twin sisters Racine and Anaia receive an impossible request hunt down the father who abandoned them and make him pay. This feels more like a wild fever dream rolling through the American South than a road trip. Dust clings to the air and neon signs blink on and off . At each pit stop another broken person shows up. The sisters lug around a bubbling anger that could devour everything. Harris crafts the film with boldness mixing grit, dark humor and tragic myths into something totally unique and fresh. The performances hit hard. There is weight in every stare every silence, every sudden burst of violence. However the film never treats revenge as simple justice. Instead it asks a sharper question what remains after vengeance finally arrives? The cinematography embraces scorched landscapes and shadowy interiors giving the story a raw almost haunted texture. Ultimately Is God Is is unsettling stylish, and fiercely personal. Fans searching through afdah tv show will find revenge saga that burns a slow strikes fast and lingers long after the final frame fades.
