Black Mirror has experienced its share of successes and setbacks throughout its extensive run, similar to any anthology film or television series. Now in its seventh season, the show has undeniably made an impact over the years, featuring both notable successes and disappointments. Despite the varying outcomes, each episode shares a common thread: a captivating premise. In the case of Bête Noire, although it is set in a candy shop, the focus on confections is largely neglected. It concludes in a clichéd ending that appears to be the only way out of the awkward situation that Brooker has manufactured. What initially presents itself as a plausible thriller ultimately devolves into an absurd narrative that is difficult to fully endorse. Discover more on Afdah.
