This is animation, comedy and family based movie. The story takes us this time to Paris, with the same human protagonists, but any less than blue skin, in a rescue mission in France to recover Smurfette from Gargamel’s clutches. There are new characters, animated and real, as are the new creations of Gargamel, Smurf essence but blue, and the character of Brendan Gleeson, Neil Patrick Harris stepfather. With all this we have the mess and adventure mounted, also in 3D. And at times (the flight by Notre Dame, the fall from the Eiffel Tower …) is really spectacular. But often accompanies the film. Yeah, no kidding. The original had some jokes unsuitable for children, and that Gargamel in the restaurant. Here have reduced everything to slapstick comedy and moments in which Hank Azaria takes over the screen with his character, the most incompetent wizard in history, but with some moments of glory with blows and histrionics. Like his cat Azrael. Or Grouchy rampant sarcasm, that still works. A shame because the first half, without being anything special, surprised by the honest laughter that one let go at a certain barbarism.
