Kraken 2026 tells the story of a marine biologist who visits a fish farm for scientific research. At first she believes the assignment will stay simple.. However several strange events soon interrupt her work. Workers report missing equipment and unusual movements beneath the surface. Soon after that two teenagers die under brutal circumstances. As a result the quiet community becomes tense and fearful. Therefore the scientist begins to connect the deaths with the unexplained activity in the fjord. Every discovery pushes her closer to a hidden truth. Meanwhile local residents warn her about stories that have circulated for generations. Even so she relies on science and evidence as she continues her investigation. Yet the deeper she looks the more disturbing the clues become. In addition the cold water and isolated setting create a constant feeling of danger. By the end the story asks whether humanity truly understands what lives beneath the surface of the sea today.
