Set several decades in the future, the story unfolds with Mickey, played by Robert Pattinson, as an “expendable” individual tasked with the colonization of a remote ice planet. His role is essentially to sacrifice himself. For the advancement of scientific research, he succumbs to airborne pathogens and various hazards. Each time he perishes, a new version of him is created. After falling into a crevasse, Mickey’s seventeenth iteration is presumed dead. Upon returning to the ship, he finds that Mickey 18 has already been generated. Both versions face peril, as the existence of duplicates is strictly forbidden.
