Description: The story is based on Bethan Roberts’ 2012 book of the same name. It revolves around three main characters: Marion, Tom her boyfriend and a brand-new police officer in Brighton. And the learned Patrick, curator of the town museum, which houses a sizable collection, including a JMW Turner. Indeed, the misty, sunlit seascapes of the 19th-century painter are heavily influenced by cinematographer Ben Davis’s visual aesthetic. The seascapes and Dover’s white cliffs that are depicted in the 1990s section have a purposefully painterly appearance. The movie follows a well-known format, switching back and forth between the 1950s and the 1990s while using two different casts of actors to play the three main characters. Young police officer Tom is portrayed by pop star Harry Styles, who has a handsome face and thick hair. One day at the beach, Tom meets the lovely and intelligent Marion.
