Description: With a razor-sharp emphasis on the Los Alamos project, the film covers nearly 30 years of Oppenheimer’s life, leaving behind very little that is not pertinent to his endeavor. In his security hearing, staff members and colleagues enter and disappear almost as quickly as they do, but two women—Tatlock and Kitty Oppenheimer—are revealed to be touchstones for a life outside of his scientific endeavors. Through these women, we are able to witness the parts of him that, amidst all of his busy and hectic attempts, crave for peace and love. Oppenheimer is portrayed by Cillian Murphy as a straightforward man, not a deranged academic who doesn’t give a damn about what he does, who he does it with, or who suffers as a result of his deeds.
