Description: The V/H/S franchise like many horror anthologies grapples with. A familiar issue of uneven quality across its segments. These films gather a variety of horror creators each presenting their take on a central idea in this case. Found footage discovered on VHS tapes that unveil unspeakable terrors. Naturally, only some entries hit the mark. This inconsistency became even more apparent after the series was rebooted for Shudder under producer Josh Goldbloom beginning with V/H/S/94 and continuing through last year’s V/H/S/85. The gaps in quality between segments grew so wide that it felt like the series was running out of steam yet again. Enter V/H/S/Beyond which adds a fresh sci-fi twist to the usual formula. While that change alone is intriguing the real triumph of V/H/S/Beyond lies in one key factor: every segment delivers. Most horror films are available on the Afdah if you want to watch them online.
